Character Summary
Bascially, Etsushi is a writer living in Tokyo, who just doesn't seem to have any more ideas. So he decides to quit. Then, comes Miho Nakayama. Miho, working in a bookstore, has her future in Etsushi's hands, because if he does decide to not write, then she will be fired. Not only that, but suddenly, her boyfriend has been ignoring her, and not asking her out for a while. Miho suddenly finds herself at the point of nearly being fired, and also ignored by her boyfriend. Wonder what Miho feels like?
Etsushi plays a bad tempered, ill paitented writer, who doesn't care about what other people think about him (explains why he sticks his feet up onto the table even when Miho is there). One can even call him selfish. This, like I said, is changed when he meets Miho.
Miho plays a...um...what do you call them? She works at a book publication center, and is in charged of contacting and managing an author. Maybe a manager? Who knows! Anyway, in the begining, she is sent to "manage" Etsushi, and because of his temper, she blurts out the truth on what she thinks of him, which actaully aren't very good thoughts. So, in the begining, Etsushi has a bad impression of Miho, and Miho does not like Etsushi.
Because of such a start, it is impossible for the audience to guess what the ending of the drama would be. The actors in support are also great, which add a sense of humour to the whole drama. Actually, Love Story is a quiet, warm, and light comedy drama, but to those who don't like any of the actors in it, the show might be boring to you. Anyway, you have to agree that Miho's acting is still as good as ever, but why doesn't she get any other roles? The Miho in this drama is just like the one in Love 2000. Sigh...

According to the magazine, The Television, which is a magazine with quite a lot of respect, Love Story has won quite some awards! Okay, so they went out and ask some "VIPs?" and passer bys a survey about the best drama this season. Although loosing in the rating section, Love Story won the award for the best drama this season! Some good news! It recieved a total of six awards, inluding best male actor in suppport. A shame though Miho didn't win any awards personally. The six awards are as follows; best drama, best theme song, best director, best male actor in role, and best short film awards. Oh well, at least Miho and Etsushi got second in best actor and actress!
As it turned out, the day the finale for Love Story was aired was also the day when the new Japanese Prime Minister election results would be shown. Because of this, Love Story crashed with the live broadcast, and so, there were less people watching the drama, because they were more interested in the future of Japan? Anyway, thanks Ling for this happy? news!
